The company was founded by Henry Mills in 1855. William Lawrence joined as Works Manager some years later, and eventually took over as Managing Director in 1914...Henry Mills has been in the capable hands of the Lawrence family ever since!
The third and fourth generations of Lawrences are involved in the business today. Meet them and the rest of the extended Henry Mills family!
Henry Mills was listed in the 1908 edition of Kelly's Directory as "Bookbinders, oval, circular and general label cutters, account book manufacturers, machine rulers, loose leaf ledger and file card punchers." We can still do all of these things...plus quite a few more! Have a look at our list of services.
We specialise in services that are awkward and need bespoke machines which printers may not have the demand or financial resources for. As well as the services you might expect (folding, gumming, creasing etc.) we also have specialist machinery for tabbing and plastabbing divider cards and wiro-binding.
